Southdowns Motorhome Centre Supports Charity Event

Here at Southdowns Motorhome Centre we pride ourselves on the work we do within the community and we always look to support well worthy causes. We were recently approached to donate funds to a group of people that would be cycling vintage bicycles from Bognor Regis to Pegasus Bridge in France.

The group of friends will be riding the vintage bicycles from The Pink Pub in Bognor Regis to Pegasus Bridge in Normandy, France dressed in Home Guard outfits (think of Dads Army) to raise funds for two fantastic causes, these are:

All Call Signs (ACS) – ACS is a relatively new entity established in 2018 after the tragic loss of a dear friend and hero Danny Johnston. Danny was an experienced soldier, serving his country for many years as part of The Tigers – the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment (PWRR). Unfortunately, Danny lost his life as a result of not receiving the support he needed, ACS was formed to stop tragedies like this happening.

Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (LNADJ) – Is a recognised charity and was founded in 2010, their purpose is to create fundraising events for the music industry to raise money and support children in crisis around the world.

Southdowns Motorhome Centre donated funds to The Pink Pub To Pegasus Bridge initiative which set off on the 3rd June 2019 and arrived in Normandy, France on the 6th June 2019. The event coincided with the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landing and was a fitting tribute to British and Allied forces that served in the first world war.

The event had a target of reaching £40,000, but at the time of writing this they have smashed their target, and as it stands they have raised over £105k!

From everyone at Southdowns Motorhome Centre, we would like to congratulate everyone involved for a tremendous achievement and surpassing your target for the two fantastic causes.
